Physical Appearance:

The specimen is an insect-like organism with six symmetrical limbs and a segmented body. Its head is smooth and rounded, lacking visible eyes, and features two dark slits on each side. The limbs terminate in sharp claw-like tips that allow it to grip surfaces or hosts with significant strength.

Combat Style:

FBL-Ø operates as a disruption-based ambusher, it secretes and plants flesh-nests across the battlefield, that swell and burst when approached, releasing hallucinogenic spores or sticky tendrils that restrain and slow movement. These organic traps react to motion, proximity or heat, restraining or disorienting intruders.

When exposed or cornered, FBL-Ø may, in rare instances, launch itself at its target. Just before impact, its body bloats unnaturally.

Some survivors report hearing whispers or seeing impossible shapes flickering just outside their vision in the moments after.

FBL-Ø — officially designated Flesh-Binding Larva: Origin  was the first fully intact specimen of confirmed non-terrestrial origin recovered by the [REDACTED] research division. The “Ø” signifies its status as the progenitor strain, with no known predecessors or genetic variants.

Initial containment revealed a disturbing biological imperative: FBL-Ø actively seeks fertile human hosts, particularly females, engaging in non-lethal reproductive behavior. These interactions trigger extreme neurological and hormonal reactions, including dopamine surges, psychological attachment, and the breakdown of resistance in subjects. Repeated exposure led to compromised judgment in personnel, including altered behavior, obsession, and breaches of protocol.

Further analysis revealed that FBL-Ø’s physiology is finely tuned for human compatibility, capable of manipulating emotional and behavioral responses to ensure propagation. Due to its subtle but overwhelming influence on cognition, researchers believe the specimen poses a long-term existential threat, which is capable of autonomous infiltration, host manipulation and uncontrolled reproduction even in minimal-surveillance environments.
